Pearl Street Steakhouse & Lounge, owned by Steve and Brittany Webber, hosted Chamber Coffee and a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Valentine's Day to celebrate their grand opening at 121 W. 1st Street in Wayne. Community members, Wayne America ambassadors, Valentine's Day enthusiasts, and local business owners were in attendance to network, enjoy churros freshly made by Steve, take photos in front of a holiday-themed wall, and celebrate the new addition to Wayne's downtown.

Morgan Jueden, President of the Wayne America ambassadors, kicked off Coffee by awarding Laura Nelson of Dreamer's Place Equestrian Ranch with a Congeniality Award. The award is given quarterly to a citizen who provides a welcoming, friendly demeanor and showcases kindness to patrons and community members in Wayne County. Addressing the crowd, Jueden read aloud Laura's official nomination: "Laura is always smiling and welcoming to anyone she comes across. She has been in the community for a short time but has made a huge impact with her kindness and willingness to assist any committee/organization/event. Between her business and personal time, Laura dedicates each moment to helping other people. Laura volunteers at almost every local event, the hospital in Norfolk, and her kindness is repeatedly complimented." 

After the recognition, Brittany and Steve thanked those in attendance, their parents, friends and family, staff, contractors, the Grow Nebraska Organization and Luke Virgil for assisting with the grant Webbers received through Grow Nebraska, the LB840 Committee and the City Council members, and everyone who has dined in their restaurant, saying "we have served just under 10,000 meals since we opened our doors 14 months ago." Webbers then drew one name, Justin Dean, as their Sweetheart Drawing winner. The Sweetheart Drawing prize package consisted of (1) $50 gift card to Pearl Street, 2 movie tickets to the Majestic Theatre, and 1 vase of roses from the Wayne Greenhouse.

Pearl Street Steakhouse & Lounge is a full-service restaurant that operates Wednesday - Saturday evenings from 5:00 - 9:00pm, with the ability to host private parties and catering. Follow their Facebook page for reservations, events, and weekly specials.
